There’s a neat series of programs, the Generation Project, appearing on BYU-TV and accessible through your computer. It shows genealogical research as an action adventure story. Here’s one segment, devoted to a retired judge in Hawaii and his search for ties to his indigenous forebears. Family history research is not always as productive, with all loose ends tied up in one hour, but it’s an informative and useful show, and stresses the importance of knowing your ancestors as real people who are part of you.
